This piece shows the forming of an exploding flower from the middle of the piece while representing the change in seasons and time. The colors one would expect in a scene of a flower emerging from winter are reversed: the flower is white, emerging into a colorful landscape, taking another angle on the narrative that spring covers the blankness of winter. Using a bright array of hues on top of the blank white flower, the piece shows emotion and suggests movement. Oil painting enabled me to blend the colors, but in other areas, it created challenging barriers between them.
